A café landing page
Build a real, deployable café site from a single sentence. Step by step.
This guide walks through making a warm Italian café site called Oliveto, from first prompt to live URL. It's a good place to start if you've been through the quick start and want a longer, realistic example to follow along with.
The brief#
Imagine you're helping a friend open a small neighborhood café. They want a simple, elegant website with:
- A hero that feels like the café — warm, unhurried, Italian
- A menu section showing the food and drinks
- An about page with a photo and a paragraph of story
- A reservation form customers can use to book a table
- A visit page with the address and opening hours
The prompt#
Open the dashboard home and type:
“A warm, editorial café landing page called Oliveto. Italian coastal palette — terracotta, cream, olive. I need a hero, a menu section, an about page, a reservation form, and a visit page.”
Hit ⏎. Wemob will ask you a clarifying question or two — pick the Italian coastal mood and say yes to reservations. A minute later, your café site is on screen.
Refining#
The first version will be close but not perfect. Here are the common adjustments you'll probably want:
- “The hero headline should be ‘Slow mornings, Italian afternoons.’”
- “Swap the stock menu items for twelve realistic Italian dishes — antipasti, primi, secondi, dolci.”
- “Use a bigger display font. More Instrument Serif, less Inter.”
- “On the visit page, show the address in a nice italic serif.”
Adding reservations#
When you asked for a reservation form, Wemob set up a small data collection behind the scenes. Visitors who submit the form will have their bookings saved there. To see them:
- Switch to the Data tab in the Studio
- Click the reservations collection on the left
- Submit a test reservation on the live preview
- Refresh the Data tab — the new reservation will appear
Publishing#
When the café feels right, click Deploy. Wemob will publish your site at oliveto.wemob.app. If you own a real domain, add it from the Deploy tab — see Custom domains.
That's the whole café in one walkthrough. The same pattern works for restaurants, shops, portfolios, events, wedding invites — the specifics change, the loop stays the same.
